Witch on oDesk

I dreaded oDesk for a couple of months after I first signed up and downloaded the oDesk pack. Although not suffering from technophobia, the system seemed a lot complicated than viewing Craigslist jobs. In oDesk, your time will be logged (for hourly jobs), the system will capture screenshots of your pc and you will be paid through payoneer or PayPal etc. That time I was still struggling to get my PayPal account verified.

One day I had nothing else to do, I tinkered with oDesk and found out that a lot of people are earning from it and the figures were encouraging. Encouraging enough for me to beef up my profile, take tests and practice navigating the oDesk tools. When I got my first hourly job, I was scared to log on simply because I don’t know my way out. I think I over-billed my first client! To compensate for the ignorance, I did some offline work for free. That time I don’t know how to give him refund as I haven’t got a buck on my oDesk balance yet.

Anyway, after barely three jobs on  oDesk, I  am beginning to love it.  Lots of jobs.  Deal with direct clients.  Less, less risk on getting scammed.  Get REALLY paid and be able to increase your rate as projects go by.  oDesk can be addicting.  For work-at-home-moms like me, it is convenient.  I never thought about working in a real office setting again :)
